Kenai Peninsula Borough (KPB) wanted an evaluation of the organizational structure and process around asset management to improve the delivery of services. Located in Alaska, KPB serves nearly 60,000 residents in a vast geographic region with incredible resources, infrastructure, and a diverse economy.
KPB turned to FEA to evaluate its facilities management organization across multiple departments and to make recommendations for improvement. In addition, KPB asked FEA to develop a comprehensive planning process for facility assets.
FEA helped KPB optimize its organizational structure, becoming more effective and efficient with its resources, and aligning its strategy to optimize performance. In addition, FEA improved the capital planning process to better identify facility needs across the portfolio and implemented a process for prioritizing needs and planning for capital improvements.
