FEA Announces Leadership Team Updates

FEA, a leader in the evaluation and lifecycle management of physical assets, is proud of our continued growth and contributions to the industry. For more than 30 years we have embraced adaptability and opportunities for advancement, and we are excited to announce key updates to our leadership team.

Chris Hodges, a founding partner, will move to a Founding Principal role. More than 30 years ago Chris founded FEA, and through his vision and guidance FEA has become a leader for strategic asset management.  In addition, Bill Small, who has been serving as President and CEO, will move to Chairman and lead the Board of Directors in its strategic role.  Chris and Bill will also continue to support our clients in the analysis of asset condition, maintenance, and funding needs.

“Thank you to our founding partner, Chris Hodges, who has not only laid a strong foundation for FEA but who has guided us to become a leader for FM and facility asset management,” stated Chairman Bill Small.

FEA’s business operations will now be led by CEO John Edwards and President/COO Laurie Gilmer. In addition, Dan Watkins will continue in his role as Chief Engineer.

John has more than 38 years of experience and has been with FEA for eight years supporting clients in strategic facility planning, organizational evaluations, technology and process improvements, and performance measurement. During his 24-year career as a U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps Officer, John served as an installation public works officer and a regional facilities executive officer. As CEO, John will supervise all day-to-day business affairs of FEA.

Laurie Gilmer has been a key member of FEA for 17 years and has more than 24 years of experience for facility assessments, energy management and sustainability, and strategic facility planning. Laurie is currently serving as Chair on IFMA’s Board of Directors, and is a published author, speaker, and contributor to the FM profession. As President and COO, Laurie will supervise business development affairs and manage operations for FEA.

“I’m excited to take the helm at FEA and continue our rich history of helping our clients improve the way they manage the built environment and prioritize their needs for the asset lifecycle,” stated John Edwards, CEO. “Thanks to Chris and Bill’s leadership, FEA has built a strong foundation and we are excited about our continued evolution to meet the needs of our clients.”
