Join us on September 29th at 8:00 am in Room 503.
Vice President Maureen Roskoski, Chairman Bill Small, and Senior Engineer Brian Isleib will present at IFMA World Workplace on Friday, September 29 at 8 a.m. Their presentation, FM Budgets in the Rockies: More Adventure Than Climbing Pikes Peak, will help facility managers learn how to proactively manage operations and funding for their buildings. An excerpt of the presentation is below:
Facility managers, especially those responsible for large portfolios, often struggle to balance day-to-day maintenance needs with long term capital planning needs. As we focus on reactive maintenance needs to keep facilities running, we often lose sight of how much planned maintenance is being deferred. How can we understand our complete program and functionality needs?
This presentation will showcase studies of two Rocky Mountain facilities organizations who have focused on long-term financial planning to address deferred maintenance and accurately project capital funding needs: National Park Service (NPS), and U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC).
By highlighting how these two local organizations have managed maintenance and used proper capital planning processes to accurately forecast funding needs, you will learn how to accurately plan for asset needs and shape future approaches for management of your portfolio.
