Build your case for Training: Proven Methods to Use

BOMA 2015If you are attending the BOMA 2015 Every Building Conference & Expo in Los Angeles, CA today.  Be sure to catch the Leadership and Career Development panel discussion “Build your case for Training:Proven Methods to Use” starting at 3:30 pm.

A strong competent team is crucial to maintaining a high performance building, but developing that team can be a challenge without the right tools. Our diverse panel of experts includes an experienced Property Manager, the National Program Manager for the FBPTA, a Project Manager with the Consortium for Building Energy Innovation, and a Corporate Sustainability Officer. This diverse panel of experts makes this session valuable for property managers, owners of existing buildings, and workers from both the federal and commercial workforce.  During this session the panelists will share the value of competency-based training and the benefits of competency models and career maps, such as those created by the Federal Buildings Personnel Training Act (FBPTA) and the Consortium for Building Energy Innovation (CBEI). We will share user-friendly, free, tools which will allow you to understand current workforce needs, recognize skill gaps, and identify training and credentials to fill those needs.  Attendees will leave with the knowledge to create a talent management plan and present a supportable business case to your management for training approval.

1. Understand the value of a skilled workforce in high performance buildings.
2. Gain the ability to build a business case for training.
3. Discover how the FBPTA competency model and CBEI career map can become the foundation for an integrated talent management system.

Let’s build excellence, together.
