FEA President and COO Laurie Gilmer has been tapped to speak at the Fed Flex Forum in Washington, DC on October 16, 2023.
The event will bring together key players from federal agencies (GSA, DOE, CEQ, DoD,
DHS) with critical partners to explore, outline and brainstorm ways to integrate federal buildings and the grid in ways that strategically balance electrical loads to the benefit of all.
The event will be an opportunity for attendees to gain an understanding of GEB technologies and how they have been evaluated and what General Services Administration facilities can do now to take advantage of and contribute to GEB in order to meet Executive Order 14057 standards to achieve net zero by 2045.
Grid-interactive Efficient Buildings (GEB) are energy efficient buildings that reduce operational
costs and dynamically respond to grid signals that value the time at which energy is consumed
(e.g., peak or non-peak). GSA’s High Performance Building team has identified GEB as an
essential part of the federal government leading the nation in accomplishing the US
commitment to reduce 50% of GHG emissions by 2030.
