Pandemic Planning from a Facility Perspective: Re-Opening Facilities

Pandemic Planning from a Facility Perspective

After identifying Essential Functions and Essential Resources during the business continuity planning phase and operating the business remotely for an extended time through a Ready Workforce, it’s time to plan for recovery. Who will direct the return to work process? When will the transition happen? Will the transition be gradual or sudden, and how will you prepare for either possibility?

For FEA, our history of conducting drills, hosting tabletop exercises, and maintaining operations in the midst of dramatic events like wildfires have positioned our firm to respond well to current events. We have a procedure for verifying all aspects of facility safety, security, and functionality before our employees return to an FEA office. Our business continuity plan makes clear the decision-making authority for the return to routine operations. As many of you are, we are thinking about what our return will look like. For example, will social distancing need to be in place in the workplace for an extended period of time?  We have begun to outline our considerations for reoccupying facilities here: www.feapc.com/reoccupy

Discussion: What will be your greatest challenge when re-opening your facilities?

Let’s build excellence, together.
