Please join in welcoming Stephen Clawson back to FEA…Stephen interned with us last summer in the Fairfax office and continued to help out remotely during the school year on various projects and helped further develop our Sustainability FMD Module. Stephen is now a full time employee at FEA and already a contributing member of the Facilities Consulting Team. He graduated from BYU with a Bachelor’s of Science in Construction & Facilities Management, with a Facilities Management Emphasis. He also received a minor in ballroom dance, his dance card is already being filled up with FM Technology, Benchmarking, and Training Development assignments. Stephen is a member of the following organizations: IFMA, APPA, IREM, ASHE. He has also completed his Health Care Construction (HCC) Certification through ASHE. Stephen has studied Mega-Construction in China & Hong Kong and did a semester at the BYU Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies in Israel, Palestine, Jordan & Turkey. Stephen has interned at DTZ – Union Pacific Railroad Account in Salt Lake City, UT, collected and interpreted facility condition data for an FCA of two rail yard sites for a start-up account. He was a Facilities Management Intern with IFMA Nashville Chapter – Vanderbilt University / School Facility Management Services in Nashville, TN and Re-drafted S.O.P. for requisition and distribution of custodial supplies for 5.8 million sq. ft. campus, streamlined ordering cycle and reduced supplies ordered by over 15%, documented staff concerns and presented updated S.O.P. to Vice Chancellor of Facilities and prepared vital system information documents for easy reference. He was a Physical Facilities Intern at Brigham Young University – Department of Physical Facilities in Provo, UT where he gained hands-on experience while shadowing various skills tradesmen and management and participated in various management and campus planning meetings for 10.5 million sq. ft. campus. He was the Building Operations Assistant at Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in Brooklyn, NY where he drew accurate floor plans for 500,000 sq. ft. campus using AutoCAD, documented HVAC coverage plans for 3 buildings and updated CMMS inventory of $1.3 million in equipment assets. Finally, Stephen was a Facility Management Intern for the Smithsonian Institution – Office of Facility Management and Reliability in Washington, D.C. where he designed fire suppression valve zone shut-off maps for 80,000 sq. ft. National Postal Museum, collected and presented department spending statistics to 90 co-workers. The project is currently displayed in the National Postal Museum.
