January 30, 2012 (Dallas, TX) – Facility Engineering Associates (FEA) is proud to announce the achievement of LEED Gold certification under the Existing Buildings rating system for the Austin Convention Center (ACC) in Austin, Texas. FEA worked with the Austin Convention Center for over two years to achieve this designation. This makes ACC one of only ten convention centers in the country to achieve LEED certification under the Existing Building rating system and one of only two to reach LEED Gold.
ACC is proud of their effort to not only achieve LEED Gold certification, but in their additional project achievements, including reducing indoor water usage by 32%, recycling 68% of their waste, decreasing their carbon footprint by 93%, and operating at an energy efficiency level 26% better than their peer-comparison baseline.
