Doug Yon, PE, CEM, CEP, CDSM is a project manager bringing more than 25 years of experience with energy management, facilities management, condition assessments, and construction management projects. Having worked as an Energy Manager in higher education prior to joining FEA, Doug is now supporting FEA’s Energy Management consulting services. At FEA, he has performed energy audits, utility allocation analyses, and evaluated energy and utility consumption profiles. His experience includes conducting American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) level energy audits following the “Procedures for Commercial Building Energy Audits”. Doug has also worked with facility managers reviewing energy purchase agreements, and summarizing key points affecting overall electrical generation costs affecting customer responsibilities, benefits, and liabilities. He has provided further assistance by identifying prospective energy brokers, utility rate negotiators, and electrical generation service providers developing of requests for proposals (RFP) for energy generation services.
This certification is offered by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and recognizes individuals who have a demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply the core essentials of facilitating demand side management and demand response programs. Demand charges apply to electricity, particularly how much power is in use at a given moment. For power companies, this equates to big money. For facilities, managing those demand charges can result in significant savings also.
